Micro Greens
Almost through another winter and I am getting kind of antsy, wanting to get my hands in the dirt of the vegetable garden. We have a raised bed out back and I already see a few crocus popping up, which the grandchildren planted for me, along with chives and weeds of course. It is still too early to plant seedlings indoors here as they will become to leggy before I can get them in the garden mid May to June, for May showers bring June flowers in our area.
The kitchen still gets to cold at night for sprouts to do well, as they begin to mold too eaisily in the cold,
even if I use citric acid in the water.
I found some organic bulk seeds, in the mini bulk section at the local Natural Foods store and planted these micro greens just a week ago. I have missed the taste of fresh greens!
Soon tomatoes, just be patient!
Anyway, I planted wheat berries and the the wheat grass is incredibly sweet. Also black sunflower seeds and whole peas, as split peas will not work. They are both incredibly falvorful and filled with vegetable protien.
I will be adding more mini green houses in the future but for now, this will suffice.
Ok, it's been pouring rain all day, and just now the sun came bursting out from behind the clouds.
It's gorgeous!
Hoping others out there are able to play in the dirt soon.
Enjoy!
